RECIPE
MUCUNA BLISS BALLS
We all know that dreaded 4 p.m. sugar craving that’s hard to resist. That’s where my protein-packed, energy-boosting bliss balls come to the rescue!
Lightly sweetened with just half a date per serving, they’ve been my go-to for avoiding sugary snacks when the sweet spirit moves through me. What makes them extra special is the tonic blend of mood-boosting mucuna and joy-promoting cacao—great for helping the body manage stress while staying balanced. I like to chase each bite with a sip of my reishi latte for even deeper nervous-system nourishment.
Ingredients
MAKES 18 PRALINES
▪ 1 1/2 cups almonds, sprouted
▪ 10 Medjool dates
▪ 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
▪ 4 1/2 teaspoons mucuna extract powder
▪ 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
For the Coating:
▪ 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder (optional)
Instructions
Combine 3 tablespoons of cacao powder, along with the mucuna and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix well. Set aside.
In a food processor or Vitamix, pulse the almonds until coarse. Add the cacao-cinnamon powder mix and the dates to the food processor or Vitamix. Pulse until everything has a sticky consistency that can be rolled into balls.
Using your hands, roll the mix into 1-inch balls (about 1 tablespoon of the sticky mix). This should make about 18 pralines.
Roll the balls in the cacao powder (if using) until well coated and no longer sticky. Arrange them on a plate or tray. Allow the balls to set in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.
Store any left-overs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or in a ziplock bag in the freezer for up to three months.
